Urban transport Planning
With growing migration and job opportunities in the metropolitan cities resulting in congestion of city roads and stress on the public transport networks available at hand to the public across cities. Increased traffic jams have resulted in reduced productivity and increased commuting stress prompting policymakers to explore alternative transport systems to help streamline the commuting process by creating new solutions to solve commuting woes. The urban planning team helmed by Shaurya Mall has been instrumental in identifying problems in current transport systems and providing research oriented solutions. The team is currently working on a research-cum-policy paper on the upcoming Patna metro. The project is a long-term project aimed at not only providing a policy-oriented but also an academic outlook to the emerging network of metro systems in tier-I and tier-II cities.
